Dear Openmod community,
My research group at NYU Tandon School of Engineering (Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering) is looking to hire a postdoctoral researcher for a project focused on optimization of low-carbon fuels and chemical production in the context of net-zero energy systems. The desired start date is Jan 1, 2024 or later.
This project will involve: a) development of process models to study emerging pathways for fuels and chemical production from alternative feedstocks, b) compact representation of these processes in integrated multi-vector energy system models to assess their role in regional and national decarbonization scenarios. Experience with commercial process modeling software such as Aspen Plus, as well as formulating and solving mixed integer programming models in Julia or Python is required. Experience with macro-energy system models, as well as techno-economic and life cycle analysis (LCA) is preferred. We welcome applicants with PhDs in any engineering discipline, with a preference for those with a chemical or process engineering background.
Interested applicants should submit a : 1) cover letter expressing your interest and highlighting relevant qualifications, 2) a current CV, 3) pdfs of two relevant journal articles and 4) a list of three references with complete contact information. All application materials should be submitted a single pdf electronically via Interfolio: Apply - Interfolio
