PhD opening at KU Leuven

:green_square: Vacancy: PhD student :green_square:

I am looking for a PhD student to work on “Decision support methods for distributions networks with telemetry data” (see link below).

The position is with the KU Leuven - Gent, Faculteit Industriële Ingenieurswetenschappen and collaborations with the EnergyVille research center and the other departments/campuses of KU Leuven are possible and encouraged.

Imho, the position is pretty nice, because, among other:

  • you’d have a lot of research freedom, as the funding is not bound to existing projects / deliverables
  • I am a rather young and not-so-busy professor, so I can dedicate quite some time and energy to the supervision. At the same time, you are not the first student I (co-)supervise
  • It is a fully-funded position, and Belgian universities grant PhD scholarships and benefits that ensure a good quality of life in general

Our group has quite some experience with power systems modelling, and we have many (open) repositories/software to kick-start your work from, see ELECTA · GitHub

Interested students without a master degree yet, but graduating at some point next year are welcome to contact me vie email, as the start date of this position is quite negotiable.

Otherwise, please apply through the portal before 06/12:
