In my group there is an open position with a focus on operations research link, with many interesting tasks around algorithms optimising and selling/using the flexibility of pumped hydropower systems, in particular Obere-Ill Lünersee (only German, but shows the topology of the system quite well).
This is not a research position, but we are a growing group of math/quant types, try out new stuff all the time and have the advantage of seeing the impact of our models rather quickly (e.g auction models for the Regelarbeitsmarkt, production planning models, …). I am happy to answer informal questions.
