Oemof: 10th anniversary meeting (2024/11)

At the end of this year, the open energy modelling framework (oemof) will turn 10. The anniversary meeting will be hosted by DLR and held in Oldenburg from the 20th to the 22nd of November, 2024.

In good tradition, we will have (user) presentation and pitches at the first day. One purpose of this is to get to know each other and to know who can form a breakout group for the next day. These breakout sessions span the range from tutorial/ teaching/ answering user questions to sketching the future development of oemof. The last day is spend hacking. Either you implement what you learned the day before with other users still around, or you join the core devs who start following the roadmap worked out the day before.

Congratulations! I am slowly compiling an unofficial evidence‑based history of open energy system modeling. So your oemof meeting might be a good place to collect some documented milestones, such as the first time the codebase was made public with a recognized open source license attached. I am particularly looking for website records, server logs, newsgroup postings, and similar. The same goes for other longstanding projects too. TIA, R
