Dear all,
I am looking for:
- Models or model modules that model carbon capture technologies
- Publications on carbon capture modeling
- Open data on various carbon capture technologies
Does anyone have any tips for me? I am grateful for any advice
Dear all,
I am looking for:
Dear Frauke,
I haven’t read much about CC but I remember this publication: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.joule.2024.02.005 (Considering technology characteristics to project future costs of direct air capture). Could be useful to discuss cost assumptions.
Best,
Etienne
Thanks a lot Etienne ![]()
The EnergyModelsX ( EnergyModelsX · GitHub ) implements the carbon value chain and has a package EnergyModelsCO2 which implements a CO2 capture unit and the possibility to retrofit existing assets with carbon capture. Not sure if there is anything published yet using the package where this is the main focus. But here are two publications that can help with the cost of the technology:
- CO2 transport: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jclepro.2024.140781
- CO2 capture: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ijggc.2021.103263
The World Resources Institute (WRI) recently posted on atmospheric carbon dioxide removal (CDR) and maintain an archive as part of their CDR campaign. Nothing on modeling (I suspect) but coverage of options, technologies, costs, and policies.
