i am working on heating system using CHP, Heat pump and boiler , the problem is i have a limit emission factor (fCO2) for the heat flow (less than 180g/Kwh), how can i add this using the emission constrain ?

the emission constraint sets a global constraint, so this is possible if you want to limit the total (or average) emissions. If you want to set an instantaneous limit, so that the emissions are always below that limit, the best way to set that might be an “emission budget flow”. Parallel to gas or electricity, emission budget flows weighted by the specific emissions of these carriers will enter the respective converters. Then, you add a constraint that limits the flow of total emission budget to your maximum emission factor times the heat produced per time step.
