Standard open common data format (CDF) for power systems

CIM is an open standard. The model is available from CIMUG. The IEC standards body sells standards based on it.

Step by step:

  1. Join CIMUG.
  2. Log into their website.
  3. Under CIM Documents, go to Current CIM Model Drafts (or Past CIM Model Releases).
  4. Download your choice of model file, e.g. iec61970cim17…
  5. Unzip.
  6. Open the Enterprise Architect file (.eap extension).
